Here is a possible solution:
When the laptop is not connected to the network: You can create two separate Hardware Profiles, one for when the laptop is connected to the network and the other when it is not connected to the network. Then you can set the Second Copy profiles not to run when a specific Hardware Profile is selected at bootup. For instance, users would boot their laptops by selecting a hardware profile called, say OffLine, and you could set the Second Copy profiles not to run when this "OffLine" Hardware Profile is selected. In this way, Second Copy would not run the Second Copy profiles because of the particular hardware profile selection. Second Copy would make an error entry in the log file to remind that the backups have not been completed due to the Hardware Profile selection. To set the Second Copy profiles not to run when a certain Hardware Profile is selected, first create the two hardware profiles as described above, and then follow the steps below:
1. From the profile's properties window, go to the "How?" tab
2. Click on the Advanced Properties button
3. Click on the Hardware Profiles tab
4. Select one of the hardware profiles listed under the section "Skip when current hardware profile is".
This would cause Second Copy profiles not to run when Windows is booted with this hardware profile.
5. Click on OK
