As a user of the past 3 versions of Second Copy, I'm pleased with the steady improvements in the quality of your product. You've not announced anything about Second Copy 9 but here are improvements that I'd pay for:

1. It can take 20-30 minutes to open a large log (200,000+ files backed up), provide the option to clear the log without opening it. The copy can just be rerun to find the errors.

2. On opening the log, have an option to just show the errors. Searching a large log can take a long long time.

3. Add a progress bar to the backup: nnn files copied, to go, deleted.

4. Separate product for a system backup/restore. I've tried Acronis and Genie and given up on them, too many bugs to be usable or trustworthy. Make it a completely separate product that only does back/restore of the system to an external device, USB stick or DVD. My "C" drive is 60 GB without the page or hibernate files so probably only an external hard drive is practical.

Regards,
Bill

We have added your suggestions #1, #3, and #4 to our wish list for a future version of Second Copy.

for #2: You can check the box "Log only errors and summaries" on the Edit > Options > General tab.

How do I turn off the annoying voice that comes on and shocks the * * * out of me -- saying "a file is open." I want to mute her!

Admin reply: From the main Second Copy window, select Edit > Options > Copy tab, then uncheck "Play sounds" option.

I could not find a way to contact you, so I'll ask my question here. We are a Texas School District. Do you offer a site license option?

Thank You,
Rick Seymour

the ask a question feature on your web site is broken and no support email adress is listed!!! so forgive me I will ask my question here:

Can second copy sync a local folder to a Sharepoint workspace on the local machine? If so how? if not will this be avialabe in the futrue? It seems to me that SharePoint MS365 does not sync directly to a local folder, which is what I would really like to do!! can't be that hard
cheers Tom S :!cool:

Further:
I just did an "integrity test on the basic processes & it passed with flying colors for all of my specific needs.

Had one Windows Explorers open to source and one to target.
1. Changed a file name in source, 4-5 seconds it appeared on target.
2. Pasted a file to source, saw it on target drive in 4 seconds.
3. Deleted a file on source drive and it appeared on target in 4 seconds.
4. also checked file change area and the deleted file was still there as it should be - the number of versions of file changes I set sure beats Recycle bin.
I admit to an SSD source drive and high speed USB3 target drive, but I'm sure results would be good on any medium as the process is solid.

It is doing exactly what I need to happen.

Ralph
